Church Dedication Here Sunday ”Bishop James S. Thomas of Des Moines, resident Bishop of the Iowa- Conference of the United Methodist Church, will be guest speaker and preside at the formal dedication service to be held Sunday, March 23, at the First United Metihod'ist Church here, beginning at 10 a.m. A 40-voice choir, directed by Tom Anderson, will present special music for the service.Ralph Peterson, Building Fund treasurer, and Russell Allen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, will be in charge of the burning of the mortgage. Carl Fuhr-man, who was chairman of the Building Committee, will present the Building for Dedication to Bishop Thomas who will preside in the ritual of Dedication. The Rev. John K. Moore, District Superintendent, and Rev. H. H. Proett, who was pastor at the time the Church was built, will will also take part.A potluck dinner is planned for noon. The afternoon will be an informal period, to be held in the Sanctuary, with former District Superintendents and former Pastors bringing greetings and local members will reminisce. The Jr. Choir under the direction of Mary Kohler will sing and the congregation will take part in the singing of hymns. A “tea” will conclude the days activities.
