A mountain lion weighing j about 175 pounds and measuring! eight feet and two inches was killed near the James River’ Ranch last Monday.This lion or panther had been killing sheep and goats on that ranch as well as several belonging to neighbors. Six were killed in one night belonging to Wallace Brown.The lion was tracked and treed by D. W. Foster with twodogs of the James river ranch. Foster wounded it with a pistoland J. J, Dent, Ed. Reeves andAustin Smith reached the scene in time to assist in finishing the beast with rocks and the helpe hide with head intact v.asght to Kerrville Tuesdayturned over to R. H.
