The remains will be taken to hi* old home at Charles City, Iowa, for burial. The Mahara brothers were the owners Of a minstrel show, aftd'also sent out an Uncle Tom’s Cabin troupe which brought them considerable profit.Will Mahara was born and raised in Charles City. It is said of him and his brothers that they were born showmen. Their father, John Mahara, owned the only opera house In the city until the erection of the Hildreth opera house a few years ago. When but little fellows the Mahara brothers were in the habit of holding shows” in their father’s barn, charging pins for admission. Many of the present business men of the city were thon regular patrons ofthese performances, and recall theig with pleasure. Later the natdril bent for the business became more noticeable and they had better shows and charged pennies instead of pint. : It is not surprising therefore that when they grew to manhood # the brothers should make for themselves a reputation along theatrical !ln*«.
