USLtJUDedication of the Wonder Kilgen Organ at New Pert.Urge Audience Well Pleased With the Fiiitetainment Given By St. Louisan.Music plays just as important apart in the success of the theatre as do “Big” Pictures. Such is the conviction of Kay Peart, manager of the Pert Circuit of theatres at Gillespie, Livingston and White City. Mr. Peart, because of the popular appeal of his presentations was convinced that a larger and better organ was essential to the continued prosperity of the New Pert. So he studied every instrument and after visiting the Kil-gen organ studios at St. Louis decided the organ that is built for the theatre was the one that would successfully interpret his pictures. On Tuesday evening after two organ builders had been working night and day, the Wonder Kilgen Organ was ready for the public of Gillespie and the New Peart was much tco small to accomodate the people who wished to hear, Ernest Hares, great organist from Skouraa llros. circuit, Ambassador, Missouri, Grand Central of St. Louis, play the Wonder Kilgen Organ. The organ not only combines the tones of the cathedral organs of the world, but has a full ensemble of orchestral instruments in addition.Besides the beautiful chimes and the orchestral instruments this Wonder Kilgen Organ has the wonderful vox humanu pipes which fairly sob as a human voice when played for sentimental purposes. The picture which Mr. Peart chose for the dedication of his Wonder Kil-Gen Organ was “The Fourth Commandment,” with Mary Carr the mother of “Over the Hill”, Belle Bennett of “Stella Dallas” fame and others. When Ernest Hares played this picture, the audience’s eyes filled with tears, the lips trembled and we reached for our handkerchief. This event was one of the Big Things in the life of our New Pert and the manager, Kay Peart thanks the public for the interest shown and their appreciation of everything he does to better the movies in Gillespie.
