SMALL POX.No New Cases—Samuel Bennett Very Low.CMCltlEAt a meeting of the board of health Friday afternoon, Cyrus Eding was appointed sanitary officer for the township and Dr. Chapman physician during the small pox scare. There are no cases of small pox in the city yet and from present appearance those under quarantine here will be out next week. They are Ed i a Groweg, Geo. Conway, Wm. H. G Widmer, Andy Smith who have sow been kept in nearly the al lotted fourteen days. The families of Ankeny and Mutter upon whom the quarantine warrant was not served until late appear to be all right and it is not thought there is much danger of the sfnall pox getting in here. The cases at New Bavaria and Holgate are getting under control and there are no new ones.It was reported that small pox had broken out in Napoleon but a telephone message from that place denied the report. It was also reported and denied that Wm. Thieroff, of near Stanley, was down with the dread disease.Sam Bennett, who resides three miles from Ayersville and was taken with small pox is a very sick man and it is feared that he cannot recover.
