The Brandon division takes in all the Western Judicial District, the other district i centres for the Province being local* d at Winnipeg, Portage, Morden. Ihm phin and Minnedosa. Adam Ross, one of the best known constables in tbt W est will come here from Yirden , -Sergeant in the Brandon district it n, is understood that another cousreb’. will also be stationed here.As the local district takes in toe towns of Souris, Melita. Res ton and Virden. it is intended to have constables in each of these towns. Sergt McSherrv of Souris is the only known appointment as yet in these towns The appointment of Mr. Poster to the posit on of inspector comes as Rte reward for a service which is tin equalled in Provincial Police circles m Western Canada. Detective Poster first joined the police service in 1881 w hen he became a member of the Wu. nipeg police force.
