On or before the first of April the ileet of passenger steamers on the Kennebec will be increased by the addition of a new one which will without the slightest doubt provo one of the ...most popular running from Bath wharves. It. is the El-h Jdorado now lying at the Morse dock undergoing a great transformation. She was brought over here from Portland about two weeks ago and her route will bo the one which the Winter Harbor has been covering, that is she will run between Bath and the landings on the lower Kennebec. The business on this route has never been worked to the limit for the reason that there has not been a satisfactory boat on the line, but in the Eldorado the company has just such a craft as is needed. This boat is about nine years old, having been built at Buffalo, and was designed for service 011 the great lakes. Her model is similar to that of the Is-laed Belle of theBootlibay division and the Pilgrim which has been plying in Pottland harbor for several years. These three boats all came from the lakes and have proven to be very efli-cient and satisfactory : crafts. The Eldorado ran from Portland to the islands five or six seasons as a rival to.the boats of the; Casco Bay Steamboat Co.’s fleet until the latter company purchased her and this last fall sold her to the new company which is to run onTlie Kennebec route. _ —
