Winnie the Pooh to make appearance in Dodge CityBy The TelegramHe’s a trouble-prone bear who loves honey lives in the forest with his friends, and will soon take a 50-mile trek from Garden City toDodge CityWinnie the Pooh, staged recentlyas a children’s theater production at Garden City Community College, has now been scheduled for a one-show appearance at 2 p.m. April 7 in the theater at Dodge City Community College.The show is designed for Ford County area children and families, as part of a 12-stop spring tour, and also as the second in a series of theater program exchanges between the two educational institutions.The play is an adaptation by Kristen Sergei of A.A. Milne's classic tale, which also involves Christopher Robin, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, Roo and other friends of Pooh. It predates the television and motion picture versions of the story, and is told with live acting and narration.The play will be presented by the same cast of Garden City residents and students who staged the storyat GCCC.Admission for the show at DCCC is $6 for adults, and $4 for children in grades kindergarten through 12. Groups of 10 or more may be admitted at $2.50 per person.Justin Parlette is handling the role of Pooh. Takaaki Otawa will portray Christopher Robin. Other cast members include Allyson Hamilton as Piglet; Tasha Clark as Owl; Kris Sisk, playing Eeyore; Dawn Pittillo and Kolby Kelly, asKanga and Roo; and RachelBender, hopping into the role of Rabbit.David Irwin, Garden City, is serving as the narrator. Kristian Pittillo, Roderick Howard, Davin Hamilton and Rachel Howar, will portray other animals.Otawa is a student from Japan. All the others are Garden City residents.The show was staged in late February at GCCC, and has alsobeen booked for area school tour performances for students in Ingalls, Sublette, Lakin, Ulysses, Ness City, Healy, Utica and Scott City
