Tentative plans are being, made to enlarge the number of .services offered 10 the citizens of Canandaigua by the Pickering Hotel. Mr. Walter .1. Wade, Rochester, who has just become associated with Hie management of the business, began his duties this week and will have exclusive direction of the hotel, tap room and restaurant facilities. D. .1. Brown, who leased the hotel in 1946. and his son Donald Brown, will retain the management of the Lobby Shop and Greyhound bus terminal.Mr. Wade intends to feature, in the food department, barbecues, w hich have become popular in Rochester. The Luncheonette and Soda bar, one of the most completely equipped in the city, will continue to serve lunches, dinners and snacks as they have in the past. Special shoppers lunches may always be found on the menu as well as Sealtest ice cream, solved in any form the customer mav wish. Luncheonette and soda bar are both opep from 6 a. m. to 12midnight.Attractive AtmosphereThe newly redecorated tap room, and grill, situated in ihe rear of the building has an attractive agreeable, atmosphere in which it is pleasant to wait, to meet or to stop awhile. All food served in the luncheonette and soda shop may also be had in the tap room, as well as all legal beverages.The hotel has 60 beautifully*decorated rooms, each provided with a private radio. One hundred guests may be comfortably accomodated at the present time. A parking station, at the rear of ihehotel, is provided by the management lor the convenience of ihe guests and patrons.Transportation CenterThere is no transportation difficulty around the Pickering.’ The Ontario Taxi, giving all night service, makes it’s headquarters there. The Greyhound Bus terminal, phone 1216, is located in the building, a waiting room is provided for fire passengers and the publicaddress svstem which has recenilv% %been installed makes it possible forpassengers to wait in comfort without danger of missing the bus as all outgoing and incoming buses are publicly announced. Public locker boxes, in the waiting room, ate a boon to shoppers who have too many parcels to carry, adequately large to accomodate baggage or packages, these boxes are placed conveniently for the use ofeveryone.The Lobby Shop is in marty ways a one stop service center.
