Staples PTA Is Sponsoring Open House Tour For FundsAn open house Westport-* - ----- —......... ..... ~Weston tour on May 22 from 1 t 5 p.m. will be sponsored by the Staples PTA, Mrs. Sidney Mackenzie, president, announced today. Five houses, each distinguished in its own right, will be on view to raise necessary funds for the PTA budget commitments for the graduation class party, printing expenses and a hoped for contribution to further the work of the music departmeht.Mrs. L. W. Kanaga is thechairman of the graduation class party committee, a project of the PTA begun in 1955 to give the students a reward for their completion of high school and to provide local supervised entertainment for their pleasure. Steve Zakos, owner of the Clam Box, will again contribute the facilities for holding the party. The orchestra and other expenses are met by the PTA.John Ohanian, director of music for the Westport schools, has for many years presented for the parents and the general public a music program. To continue *his program in the new high school, funds are needed.The committee for the house tour is chairmanned by Mrs. J.W. Brown, Jr., of Westdn, assisted by Mrs. Sidney Mackenzie, Mrs. Frank Smith, Mrs.Harmon Cardozo and Mrs.George Sharnoff. The complete list of houses, including one where tea will be served, will be made public in the near future.
