FORESTRY LAW TO BE OPPOSEDThere seems to be some opposition to the proposed forestry ordinance, recently pveprsed by Mayor Harry Rodabaugh, wlvch if passed will give full control cf all trees and shrubbery bordering the streets of the village to a forestry commission.Rumor of a petition, asking that the matter be dropped, was current yesterday. Indicating that many people who have planted trees on the margin of their lots feel that they Should not have the care of them taken away from them.Tt is also understood that at least two members of council are not very enthusiastic ever the ordinance. The question of the legality of a village appointing a commission has been raised and also it is believed thnt should this be possible, a previous ordinance should have created the commission. The ordinance has had two readings and will come up for the final one and passage at the regular monthly meeting oi April 1,ton, Howard Goldsmith, inn May Shepherd, Sylvia shinklc, Alma Womniiek, Mary Ellen Martin, Martha Rodabaiigh, Selgilnde Hfmdschln, Margaret Evans and Wallace Rcudebush,Net Sqmul HonoredA merry scene was presented last evening at the home of Mr, mid Mrs. Hugh Stephenson, South Main street, when a parly and banquet was given In honor of the Stewart High Junior ba-skctball squad. This entertain me nt cf the Sewart Junior squad was Ln recognition of Jts most successful season, during which the teum won an even dozen games without a single defeat and = ended by carrying off the county T Junior High Championship.A beat If ul loving cup, donated by 'the Hamilton Dally News, was pre-i fecnled to the Stewart squad follow-f Jdg the banquet.^ • The guests included, Principal H.2J.
