Ice Harvest•• ** - •» -* *»*WHILE WARM DAYS are bringing patches of water to the surface of the Peace, ice is still fairly thick and solid looking—as evidenced by the hefty blocks being harvested this week at a point just north of the bridge in Peace River. In the foreground Russell (ireen pokes a big block loose while his brother Clifford handles a crosscut saw. In the background men prepare to slide a hugeblock across thlt; surface of the river and on up a ramp into the waiting truck—an operation they appear to hand c with ease. Beneath the bridge where considerable repair work on piers has been underway since the new year, operations are virtually completed; it is reported that water on the ice at Dunvcgan is rapidly approaching the problem stage (Record-Gazette Photo)
