AnnouncedIAuthentic announccmont that tb« Central .States Theater corporation will build a new ultra-modern theater in Burlington within this year, which will be both a movie and vaudeville house find will be large enough tlt; accommodate any audience that might gather here, was made last night by Joseph Brody, counsel for A. H. Blank, president of the Central Sinhs Theater corporation.The announcement came shoiflvafter it was officially stated yesterda that the Central States Theater corporation had negotiated the purchase of the Palace theater, owned by theJacobs interests here in the city. The•*successful deal now gives the Cential States corporation two theaters m the city, the Rialto and the Palace'o on Grand.A second announcement was mad* last night b Mr. Brody in which he said that the Grand theater had not been leased and that no negotiations were anticipated in that direction, it was first iumored that the (Rend theater had been leased along with the sale of the Palace to the Cential States Theater company.It was further stated that Mr. Oscar Jacobs, now in California, will return to the city as soon as he complete-business which called him to the west, coast, and will operate the Grand theater as it has been operated in the past, with road shows and the like Mr. Brody said that the agreementdecreed that no movies could ho shown at the Grand. Mr. Blank s counsel said further that the Grand would probably operate thus fot the temainder of the year.Infinite Plans Soon.Definite plans for the new th' will be forthcoming soon, Mr. Biodv said and it will be a theater that the city will oe proud of. No cost was announced but it was understood that the new project would cost b(t\v**-n $300,000 and $400,000.
