what's happeningHJT one-acts open Friday under student directionThree one-act plays directed by Whitman College students will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Sunday at Harper Joy Theatre.The plays will be Lawrence Goldberg’s “On the Occasion of Wet Snow, James Madison Morton’s “Box and Cox” and Terrence McNally’s “Ravens-wood,”Goldberg, a senior at Whitman, adapted his play from Dostoevsky's “Notes from the Underground.” He has also designed the settings for the play. The cast includes Michele Swaner, Jim Buglewiez and Alda Sheppard.“Box and Cox,” directed by Mark H Chamberlin, junior, isa farce set in London in the 1840s. It combines the traditional farce style of acting with the antics of modern day slapstick. Actors are KeithDahlgren, Bruce Easter and Bronle Crosby.Vincent G. Theel, Whitmansenior, directs “Ravenswood.” It is a comedy about a rest and recuperation home run by “Dr. Pepper.” The vacationers are played by lau Rosenberg, Joe Correa, Debra Walker, Karen Nelson, Paul Grossman, Bradley Jay Hunt, Mike Alger and Harper Joy director Jack Freimann.Seats are not reserved, but tickets should be picked up before the plays open.
