BASEBALL LEAGUE IS FORMED TODAYi_DEFINITE STEPS ARE TAKEN BY REPRESENTATIVES OFSIX CITIES. iFirst Game Will Be Played on , the First Sunday inMay.Last evening- the representa-lives from six cities in this section of the stale met at the home of Tony George in Marion and formed a North State league. The teams will play on Sundays and holidays and from present prospects the league is assured of success.The movement originated in this city and Karl-Schneider and “Red” Milliner have been instrumental in its formation. Among those present last evening were: E. E. Howard and Charles Sellers, of Logansport; Arthur Sheer and James Hainan, of Huntington; 0. Shirely, of Walton; Michael Lawrence and Tony George, of Marion; ‘William Brainard, of Peru, and Karl Schneider and “Red” Milliner, of this city.Final Meeting Here.Further plans and the schedule for the coming season will be made at the next, meeting which will he held in this city on March 17. Three of the umpires of the 1911 Northern State league will he retained, according to present plans.The first game wil he played the first Sunday in May.
