Jim Rink was in the office other day and as his right name is Sebastian we inquired why he was called “Jim.” He said when he was a small boy away back in 1856 a man who was employed on the construction of the Lake Shore railroad was boarding with his father who at that time lived near the track on the farm east of town now occupied by John Tuvell. This man’s name was Jim and Mr. Rink took a great fancy to him and was his almost constant companion The fellow would permit him to lide on his back and amused him in many ways. He was given the nickname “Jim” which he has carried to this day and is hardly known by any other.
