s.le.;s.rdinans-lO*S.II-tek-ir-of»r-ofli-Nominating Convention.The Republicans of Fayette county will meet in delegate convention at Boots Hall, Connersville, Indiana, on Saturday, March 20,185)2, at 10 o’clock a.m., to nominate candidates for the various county offices to be filled at the November election of 185)2.Following are the rules governing the selection of delegates and the nominating convention as adopted by the County Central Committee:In pursuance of the instructions and by the authority of the Republi-can mass convention of Fayette county, Indiana, held January 5), 185)2, the Republican Central Committee of said county hereby adopt the following rules and regulations to govern the selection of delegates and the nominating convention of the Republican party of said county to be held at Roots Hall, Connersville, Indiana, Saturday March ill), 185)2, to wit:I. Oue voting poll shall be opened in each voting precinct in said county on Friday the 25th day of March, 185)2, at the places and between the hours herein after named for the purpose of selecting by ballot the number of delegates to said convention as herein apportioned to each of said precincts to wit:CONNERSVILLE TOWNSHIP.1st precinct at McCann’s store, East. The central commtteeman of each precinct shall be inspector of his poll, and together with one poll clerk, by him selected, shall constitute the election board of such precinct. Said board shall keep a correct poll book and tally sheet and preserve all ballots aud return the same to the Secretary of the county committee, at the earliest possible time after the count is made, certifying therewith the names of the delegates selected from said precinct.III. The voting shall be by ballot on blank forms to be furnished the inspectors by the county committee, each voter writing upon said ballot and voting for the number to be chosen from his precinct. The apportioned number of delegates to which such precinct is entitled who receive the highest number of votes cast shall be the delegates from such precinct to said convention. In case of a tie the election board shall decide by lot which of the parties so tieing shall be delegate, vacancies in the delegation of any precinct shall be tilled by the delegates of said preciQct who do attend.IV. Only Republicans who will be legal voters at the November election of 185)2, in said county, shall be allowed to vote at said polls.V. The secretary of the county committee shall compare the returns of the inspectors and furnish the convention with a true list of the delegates thereto as shown by said returns and be prepared to furnish the credential committee, of said convention with the poll book, tally sheet and ballots of any precinct. Said committee shall settle all contests subject to appeal to the convention.VI. Said convention shall meet atRoots Hall at 10 o’clock A.M., on Saturday, March 2(5, 1892, and after due organization proceed to the selection of Republican candidates for all county offices to be lilled at the November election, 185)2. The candidate for any office receiving a majority of all the votes due from said convention, shall be the nominee far said office.The following is a list of the candidates to bo chosen by said delegate convention, viz: Treasurer of Fayette county, Indiana; Sheriff of Fayette county, Indiana; 1 Commissioner for 1st District of Fayette county, Indiana; 1 Commissioner for 2nd District of Fayette county, Indiana;1 Commissioner for 3rd District of Fayette county, Indiana; Coroner of Fayette county, Indiana; County Assessor of Fayette county, Indiana.The above are the rules as adopted by the Koepublican county central committee at its regular meeting held j at Roots ball, Connersville, Indiana, January 1(5. 185)2.
