Museum program to be repeated SuftdDrrOne Hundred Yearsin the Duncan HouseEighteen persons who dressed in period costumes Thursday evening at the Massillon Museum to assist in the “One Hundred Years in the Duncan House” exhibit theme being carried out this month will repeat their performances Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.Mrs. M. T. Neil Pergandeportrayed James Duncan, who founded Massillon and in the 1830s built the home which now houses the museum. David Doll will be James Duncan Sunday.William K. Yost and Mrs. Yost represented Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baldwin, the last people to reside in the home. They left It to be used as a museum.Robert Haas and W. H. Ross will both portray Arvine Wales Sunday and each will appear reading a newspaper in a rocking chair as Wales is shown in his portrait at Spring Hill.Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Ross are Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Dangler, who resided in the home after the Duncans left Masssillon.MRS. RICHARD GESSNER will be Mrs. Mary Schott, a famous Massillon cook, andMrs. Jack Knott and Mrs. James Bucher will each portray her helper, AnnieReese.Mrs. Robert Dawson will portray Frank Baldwin’s mother, Mrs. J. P. Barrick.Those named above will appear in room settings created throughout the museum. In the gallery are two parlors, a bedroom, a doctor’s office and a kitchen and the music room in across the hall. Rooms are lighted with spotlights, candles and kerosene lamps.Other hosts and hostesses who appeared in costume Thursday and will do so again Sunday are Mrs. Ted Willoughby, Mrs. J. R. Barati, Mrs. John Silk, Mrs. John Ripple and Gary Spangler.Mrs. Howard Cooper has been in charge of fitting everyone in a costume and finding the proper accessories.Mrs. C. I. McAllister Jr. and her committee prepared the dessert Thursday evening and will serve refreshments Sunday afternoon.ON THE FIRST Boor of the museum, the history of Massillon and its prominent persons up to 1930 Is depicted through the use of photographs, family possessions and objects pertaining to them and the early businesses in the city.
