G. Wells being the chairman of the board county commissioners, has a well arranged exhibit which is in charge of W A. Sessoms, county agent, .Mrs. Amu* Campbell, the home demonstration agent for the county, also being in attendance. Both of whom are ever ready to give out most interesting data and information relative to DeSoto county, its resources and attractions. The booth is decorated in the national colors anil prominence is given to this being the aviation county of Florida, two aeroplane camps being located there at present., with the prospect of the gov-j, lernmcnt. establishing additional | camps. The great attraction at L ! this exhibit is the reproduction of i, an aeroplane, with a hangar effect, which occupies a central position. The pianos serve as shelves, as it were, on which various agricultural products are displayed in attractive manner, and all so that every article can readily lie seen by visitors. The central idea of this decorative and at the same time practical touch is that food and airships will win the war..Mr. Sessoms explains that “the exhibit represents DeSoto county in its everyday clothes,” calling attention to the fact that the exhibits were gathered in an offhand manner with many farmers, truck gardeners and growers contributing. ITay and grasses are shown, which crops are big ones in this county, the largest range county in Florida. There arc now mote than 100,001) head of cattle in this county and animal husbandry is the greatest industry with every indication of it rapidly assuming even greater proportions. The exhibit was made possible by the appropriation made by the board of county commissioners. Safe farming is what DeSoto urges in times like these and with its excellent lands for cattle ranges, its rich and productive a-cros. The future looks exceeding Ibright and prosperous, ('aimed •goods, jellies, jams, marmalades and a fine display of citrus fruits and cotton are among the several of the many other displays to be seen in this exhibit.
