The Recorder’s “Busy Day,” AThe County Recorder’s office has easily been the busiest place in town this week and last, as the result of the tremendous quantity of instruments dumped in therein connection with the March 1 land clearances, the number of deeds as well as the amount of money involved in the hundreds of transactions surpassing anything before known in the history of the county. Last year we thought we had reached the limit, but the event proves we were mistaken. Miss Eagles on has I been assisted in the ofiice by ex-Recorder Geo. Me Burney and by her deputy Howard Smith, and among them they have handled the vast amount of work admirably. While mentioning the “busy” places in connection with the land deals we should not overlook the Auditor’s ofiice, where all the transfers have to be made I and platted, nor the real estate offices I and the banks, where the work of settling has been done. The bank clear-1 ances of this city the past week would make an interesting record.
