Squad plans for contestBy Linda BarnesLakin High SchoolThe Lakin High School fo-rensics squad will travel to Elkhart Saturday for the Hi-PJains League Forensic and One*Act Play Contest.The Broncs will leave the parking lot at 5 a.m. and return to Lakin at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday everting. The goal of this contest is to qualify for state. To qualify for state forensics a contestant must place first, second or third in their particular event. State forensics and one-act play contest will be at Hays April 10.The one-act play, βThe Search,β is by Lenora Cave. The cast includes Roxie Kop-fman, Wade Berber, PaulHorner, Kevin Symes, and Jay Harris.Most of the cast members are also going in individual events. Roxie Kopfman is in an improvised duet with Marla Brooks; Paul Horner and Wade Berber will present a duet, and Kevin Symes is in a duet with Mike Eddy.The other students attending are Mike Eddy and Mark Mueller, improvised duet; Janna DeLissa, informative and oration; Neal George, informative; Marla Brooks, oration; Mark Hernandez and John Carter, prose; Denise Dumler and Jerry Horton, extemp; Linda Barnes and Jerry Horton, dramatic in-terp; and Denise Dumler and Linda Barnes, poetry.
