The movie is a collection of eight separate sketches which are linked by the varied and delightful performances of the two stars and are, like the Italian sex posture, sometimes awkward and more often hilarious.Directed as broad farce by Dino RJsl, whose last film, Scent of a Woman,” had Vittorio Gassman as a raucously lustful blind man, How Funny Can Love Be? includes stories about a loyal servant who wakes his boss’ wife, a chronic heavy deeper, in a moat unconventionalway; a sexual braggart who a a complete bomb on his honeymoon; a man who forsakes his beautifulwife to court women more than 70 years old; a man who is nearly seduced by a friend’s wife while the friend talks Incessantly beside them; and a sad tale o! pathetic love among the poor. But the best two sketches, one about a homosexual love affair with a twist ending and another about an artificial insemination clinic donor who must fantasize about a mm to contribute, are so crazily hilarious they are worth sitting through even the most awkward of the episodes, an old joke” sequence about a wife who revenges her husband’s death by seducing his killer to death.Throughout, its airy comedy is completely enhanced by Gianni's ranging caricatures and Mist Antonelli’s allure which, coupled with her fine acting touches, makes her a newcomer with more than meets the eye. How funny can sex be? Much, much more than most cynical Americans would expect.McDonaJcKs, Is Now Opts ForBREAkfASTMUZtM fTYLfICECAPftDESCHALETICE SKATINGII A.M. t* I P.M. • lolttttMI.EVERYDAYMETROCENTER phomihmiiiptudpevufiSTEAK OUTABOBBY LEE 11W® Feature
