The two couples met when the Hirsches woe passengers on the MS Renaissance, ‘‘Music Festival at Sea” a couple of years ago.On Saturday when the two couples lunched at Marina Jack’s the Hirsches’ daughter, Carolyn Michel, delighted the Rostropoviches with a gift of a bowl of red carnations decorated with some miniature bottles of vodka.After lunch, accompanied by Beth and Gil Waters, (she’s fluent in French and Gil in Russian) the Rostropoviches went antiquing. (Galina bought two pair of shoes). Maurice Hirsch secured tickets and in the evening the couple with their interpreter, attended a performance at the Asolo.Sunday after the concert and Rostropovich’s two encores, the Hirsches entertained with a small dinner party at Cafe L‘Europe. Guests who raised champagne glasses to toast the talented musicians included Grace and Joe Penner, the Jack Chris Kahns, Doris and Paul Wolfe, Dave and Eleene Cohen, Herman and Carol Baars, the Alvin Lindenbergs, Ted Sperlings, Mrs. Michael Ackerman, Mrs Out Jacob, Mrs. Herman Seldin, the Gil Waters and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Freund.This group was Joined by three members of the cast now appearing at the Golden Apple, Gaylea Byrne, Donald Buka and Carolyn Michel. At Rostropovich’s request,Carolyn was seated on his right and the two shared one of her gift bottles of vodka.Mr. and Mrs. George Bemat and Mrs. Robert (Roberta MacDonald) Turoff stopped in to toast the couple. Rostropovich commented on how warm and friendly be had found the people of Sarasota, how much he liked ft here, and what a wonderful place the Van Wezel was for a performer. The party lasted until after 1a.m.An after-concert party was hosted by Beth and Gil Waters on Tuesday evening, following the marvelous performance by Mme. Vishevskaya. Guests inducted some of the Russian speaking residents of Sarasota, Sonia Truzzi, Tamara Heyer, Tatiana McKinney, as well as the Maurice Hirsches, Sarasota’s Mayor and Mrs. Elmer Berkle, Mrs. Ruby Newman, Bob Van Skike and Carolyn Michel, at a buffet-supper given in the Billy Bowlegs Banana Patch at the Hyatt House.Comedy At PlayersThat ‘‘My Fair Lady” has lost none of its original enchantment is being proved at 8:30 p.m. nightly at The Players Theater.Alfred P.
