Mitchell and which was recently par* chased by Former Mayor Edward Crambo, was destroyed by fire Sunday night at 9:30 o’clock. The loss is about 16,500 with 94,800 insurance. A few minutes before the fire broke out Mr. Gray went across the roadway to the residence of Mr. George Tuley. Mrs. Gray was using the telephone when an explosion was beard and a moment later the flames bnrst out and soon enveloped the entire strnctnre. Fire Chief Kraft drove to the house with the Johnson pomp and assisted in saving the outbuildings bnt the entire house was soon reduced to ashes. The house was valued at 93,500 and was insured for 93,200 in the Western Underwriters in Charles Krentzer’s agency. Mr. Gray carried 92*600 on his furniture which he valued at over 93,000. The house was formerly owned by Philip Helfrich and passed into the hands of Capt. Mitchell several years ago. It occupied a prominent point on the knobs and the fire last night could be seen for miles.
