The speakers were Mrs. Lillian Pierce, of Knightstown, Ind., who has created wide attention by her talks before institute gatherings, and H. L. Beall, prominent stock raiser of near New Salem, Ind.According to local people who attended the institute, the display of sewing and food stuffs, prepared by the girls, was the finest of any exhibited at other gatherings this year.In the exhibition of sewing work done by the domestic science classes, the Lewis Creek school was award-ed first honors, Mt*.-Auburn' second, and Clifford, south of Flat Rock,third. In the display of useful andlt;. 1fancy articles;, Maryo Ai Armuth, of* ^ * • • • ....Clifford, won first prisse; .Ethel Lewis,of Mt. Auburn, second; ‘Malinda Ropp, of Flat Rock, third. The white layer cake contest was won by Katherine Crim, of Flat Rock. Second prize was awarded Marie Clark and Mary Reed took third prize. Helen Becker, of Clifford, won first in the dark cake contest; Mable Moore, second, and Thosia Ropp, of Flat Rock, third.
