The Confederate leaders blow up the bridge as the Fed-erals ere about to cross. The baffled Union soldiers are compelled to withdraw. Wellington rescues the supplies and orders them stored in his own quarters. He is seated, with his wife and small 6on, looking at a recently taken daguerreotype of the three, when a servant announces the approach of the raiders. The drama, while not remarkable for its originality of subject, is convincing and, by commendable acting of its impersonators and * evident good directorship, will be classed as a good number on the theater program.Dan Ryan emigrates to the United States and finds work as a street laborer. As he wields his pick Mary Carter, daughter of the Mayor, and Richard Hovne, her suitor, drive past In an automobile.- Out of curiosity Mary orders the machine stopped and she takes a kodak picture of a man with a barrow on a plank.Rival Finds Snapshot.Evincing a liking for politics, Ryan outers the game and two years later is elected Alderman. He and Mary meet and fall in love, Mary failing to recognize In him the former street laborer. He wins her hand. One day, in looking over Mary’s photo album, Hoyne comes across the snapshot of the street gang and recognizes Ryan’s picture.
