Mr. Martin Shoup, of New Paris, is in the city 'visiting his grand daughter, Mrs.J.F.Wellner. Mr.Shoup is eighty-nine years, old and comparatively vigorous today. He lived at Benton about sixty years before he removed to New Paris. He enjoys the distinction of having made two journeys to California on foot carrying a musket on his shoulder.—Elkhart Review.
