Patriotic Sons of Liberty.The Sons of Liberty, which is said to have been organized on October 81, 1765, In a small room in a distillery in Harvard square, Boston, was the most famous of the* patriotic secret societies named in American history. The Sons of Liberty had a prime purpose, which was to oppose | in every possible way the obnoxiousStamp act.The organizers were mostly young men. fiery and adventurous. Paul Revere was one of them, and later, when the Revolution began, was chosen their leader. It is believed thi pretended Indians who threw the tea into Boston harbor were picked mem bers of the society.
