If roil Snot AIn case you are stumped by the above headline, read the following message from the people of Drayton Valley, Alberta.Citizens of Drayton Valley, together with official dignitaries, turned out at the cement pier near the North Saskatchewan River Bridge on the evening of June 20 to participate in the launching of the first platoon of 100 D. V.U.F.O. 's (Drayton Valley Unidentified Floating Objects), destined for communities along the river route to Lake Winnipeg and Hudson’s Bay.This unique centennial project originated by a group of Drayton Valley citizens and sponsored by the Drayton Valley Centennial Committee, was to communities along the river route. Each D.V.U.F.O. is topped by a centennial flag and has a year painted on it, representing each of the years between 1867 and 1967. Anyone finding a D. V.U.F.O. is asked to look inside for a letter explaining how he or she‘■‘‘V ' ^.v*c^-V'lt;j; .v' ' . ^‘vYV- -may collect valuable rewards. Closing date is December 31, 1967, and the contest is open to adults only.In addition to prizes for each letter returned, the Drayton Valley Centennial Committee is offering special prizes for D. V.U.F.O.'s marked *1867* and 1967* and a grand prize for the one found furthest away.
