Hasu Hall.Last Saturday afternoon the Melvin and Forrest ball clubs met on the diamond at Gibson. An audience of about 200 saw the game. Fully one-third of the people, however, either climbed the enclosing fence or stood on the outside and thus avoided paying a dime. Next to begging your newspaper, that of begging a game of ball is the most contemptible. The game was devoid of interest, Forrest at once taking the lead and at no time did Melvin have a ghost of a show for winning. Three double plays are credited to Forrest, and but three or four fielding errors are charged ■ to them. The following score shows! when the runs were made:Innings— 123456789Melvin...............1 0 0 5 0 0 1 0 1—8Forrest. ............3 8 3 0 6 4 3 1 *—28
