LIBRARY BOARD MEETINGRILES FOR THE REGILATIOX OFREADING ROOM.TO BEAUTIFY THE GROUNDSDfflded That Donation* of Rook* and Periodical* May Be Received Subject to the Approval of the Board and Librarian.There was a meeting of th* trustees of the Hearst free library last evening, at which all the trustees were present. There was a general discussion as to the best plan for beautifying the grounds and some bills for current expense audited and ordered paid. It was decided to accept any donations of books and rules for the government ofthe library were adopted, as follows:Article 1. The library and reading room shall be open on all secular days, except legal holidays, from 10 a. m. to 0 p. in., and on Sundays from 2 to 9 p in.The library and reading room shall be closed on such days as the board may/1 * n:r i n t e.Article 2. Any person of good deportment and habits may use the reading rooms. Ivoud conversation and other conduct not consistent with the quiet, cleanly and orderly use of the reading rooms are prohibited. Children under IS years of age not allowed upstairs without permission of the librarian.Artiele 3. Any resident of the city of Anaconda, above the age lt;»f 10 years, may draw hooks from the library by registering his or her name and complying with either of the following conditions:First—Giving satisfactory security on a guarantor card, to be procured from the librarian; orSecond—By depositing $5 as security with the librarian, and in special cases such further sum as the value of the hook asked for may. in the judgment of that officer, require.Article 4. Any resident of Deer Lodge county outside of Anaconda may obtain the privilege of drawing hooks from th»* library by obtaining a card and having it indorsed, and paying $1 per year in advance.Article 6. Each person entitled to draw hooks from the library will besupplied with a card inscribed with name and register number. This card must be presented whenever a hook is taken, returned or renewed: and such card, if lost, will not he replaced until 30 days after notice of loss has been gi ven. but the payment of 10 cents shall entitle such card holder to immediate readmission to library privileges.Article 6. Books may be retained 14 days and may be once renewed for the same period at the discretion of the librarian.Article 7. Books of recent purchase labeled ‘ seven-day book cannot be retained more than seven days and cannot be renewed.Artic le 8. Books belonging to the reference library and such others as the trustees may determine to he unsuited to general circulation shall he used only in the library rooms.Article 9. The holder of a card shall be entitled to but one volume at a time, provided, however, that where the drawing of one volume only of a set will cause inconvenience to the borrower, two or more volumes may be loaned at the discretion of the librarian.Article 10. A line of F cents a days shall be paid on each work, whether bound in one or mor»* volumes, which is not returned acc«* ling to the terms of the preceding rubs, and no other hook will he delivered to the person incurring the fiine until it has been paid.Article 11. Writing in books and turning down leaves are prohibited. The borrower is responsible for all injuries to books beyond a reasonable wear. All injuries to books and all losses shall be adjusted promptly to the satisfaction of the librarian. Every person drawing a book is requested to examine it. for self protection, before leaving the room, and to call the attention of the librarian to any imperfections.Article 12. Delinquents will be notified through the mail on the second day after the delinquency has occurred, and one week thereafter, if th*‘ book has not been returned, the guarantor will be notified. If the book is not returned within 14 days after serving the first notice the librarian shall proceed to collect, through the legal department of the city, the value of the book, with accrued fines and other charges to the date of payment.Article 13. Any card, holder is at liberty to suggest books for the library and such books will be purchased, if approved by the board. Donations of books and periodicals will be accepted, subjec t to the approval of the board.Article 34. Any person abusing the privileges of the library or reading room or violating these regulations shall be temporarily suspended from the use of the library, and the case shall be reported to the board of trustees for proper action thereon.Article 15.
