The Holly Pond boys proved no match whatever for the Cullman Giants, and the end of the ninth inning the score ' stood 2d to :-{ in favor of Cullman.I.ast year they were called “babies, and tbis year they have been dubbed “hams. They des» rvo no such appel-lalions, evidenced by the manner in which they handled themselves in Wednesday's game.Hendrix, who did the twirling for the visitors, is an easy, graceful pitcher, and is as cool as an old veteran. He handles himself with perfect ease, and Helds his position well. He received the physical and moral support of tlie team behind him, for the players, besides helping him all they could in the way of put out and assists, had the encouraging word of the King Hooter every few minutes.Owing to a misunderstanding as to t he t itne t lie game would be called, our reporter did not arrive until the game was in good headway, but on his arrival found that a strange scene was being enacted—standing in tin* center ot the diamond was a well made young fellow wit ha sandy moustache engaged in the business of starting balls on i heir course towards the catchei.
