Hitchcock OESHas installationAn impressive candlelight installation ceremony for the Hitchcock chapter 1085, Order of Eastern Star, was held in the John Mitchell Lodge Hall in Hitchcock on Saturday, June 13.Preceeding the opening, musical selections wereplayed by Mrs Mildred Weg-ner, past matron of Galveston chapter 716.The candles were lit byi •Mrs Martha Sanders and Mrs Anna Lou Normand, both ofFriendswood.The following officers wereinstalled: Dorothy G. Dickson, worthy matron; Nellie Warren, associate matron; Charles Hamm, associate patron; Willie Moore, secretary; Dean Evans, treasurer; Frances Tinsley, conductress; Katherine Welch, associate conductress; Ida Gates, chaplain; Annie Van Der Ziel, marshal; Garnet Hamm, organist; Pauline Evans, Adah; Doris Camer, Ruth; Geraldine Bryant, Electa; Thelma Means, Warder; Stella Gana, sentinel.J. T. Sanders, junior pastgrand patron, grand chapterof Texas, OES was the installing officer, assisted by the following grand officers: Martha Sanders, marshal; Mrs Olga L. Lind, chaplain;Mrs Mildred Wegner, organist; Mrs Marguerite Beach, secretary.Mrs Dorothy G. Dicksonpresented an inspiring welcome and message and also introduced her family and friends. A tribute to MrsFlorence B. Mitchell was given. She was worthy matron of Galveston chapter 716 during 1949-50. The John Mitchell Lodge is named after her late husband, who was a 33rd degree mason.The central point of interest at the dias was the silver scale of justice, flanked with pink daisies at other places in the chapter room.Refreshments were served in ghe dining area from the decorated table centered bylighted silver hurricanefee and punch service.lamps. The silver servicewas a gift to the worthy matron from the worthy patron elect for their silver anniversary. Mrs Winifred Briggs and Mrs Ann Normand presided over the cofMrs Guriie Johnson andMrs Dorretta Jenkins registered the guests.Other grand officers present were Bill Tippen, member of the grand chapter benevolence committee, MrsO-pal Tippen, grand representative of Colorado to Texas and Mrs Nellie Warren, member of Founders Daycommittee.The installation was closed with benediction by J.
