Annual Ladies Night AffairBy Irene L EdwardsPEWAUKEE, —(Special)— Ladies’ night for the Kiwanis club of Pewaukce was such a success that the ladies are suggesting that theevent be a semi-annual instead of an annual affair. Dinner, dancing and cards were features of this entertainment at the Merrill Hills Country club on Thursday evening.Twenty-six members and their wives and two guests were present* Some of the men arrived early ip the afternoon for golf. A turkey dinner was served at 7 p.m. after which President Alvin F. Creek-mur, as master of ceremonies, called on James Ackley for piano playing and Winston Brown, Edward D. Luenzmarm and Thomas Bedfield for stories.A radio donated by Arthur Hahn was won by Joseph B. Ely, as a door prize. Ladies received compacts as favors.New Bus ServiceMich., stopped here for a week’s visit with the Herbert Daums, while, on her way to attend summer school at the University of Wisconsin. Miss Haerlng will spend the week-ends here during the summer session. She is Mr. Damn's niece.The Boland A. Karows, Rocky Point, entertained at a beach party for their daughter Nancy on her twelfth birthday, Saturday, June 21. Twenty-six girls and boys enjoyed swimming, games and dancing from two to eight; and refreshments with hamburgers cooked on the outdoor grill, birthday cake and ice cream, and all the trimmings.Miss Buth Christofferson’s brother Louis from Michigan was a visitor here last Monday.Grannar Granquist, formerly a’ teacher in Pewaukee, was the concert soloist at Waukesha’s first summer concert held In Cutler parknn Thursdav evening-.
