Farley With a Pedeetrleane.A Leader reporter this morning had a short talk in the Ashley House parlors with Madame Du Pree, the pedestrlenne, who is to commence a 50-hour walk at the Opera House on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. She is a small lady, rather slim and weighs but 125 pounds. One would not suppose by looking at her that she could walk two blocks without resting, yet in De-oatur, 111., she gave a local walker ten miles start, and walked one hundred to his ninety-eight miles, Including his gift of ten miles. She stated that she had frequently walked 175 miles in 50 hours, and during the past thirteen months bad walked in public 5650 miles. She needs no practice previous to her attempt, and requires no attendant during the walk.Madame DuPree has a determined look on her countenance, and is evidently of that class of ladies who do whatever they set out upon doing. Her daughter Minnie will aeoompany her eact} evening, and it is not improbable, that some amateur of this city will walk with her. We understand that possibly Von Egidy may accompany her on the long tramp. A professional female pedestrian has never walked in Bloomington, from which we infer that this lady will be accorded a llboral patronge. She stops walking at 10 o’clock on Saturday night.
