At Young1!* Ilal!, yosterdav afternoon, was a spicndid triumph tor our German friemls. The M w*icul Societies of St. UuiK Kock i bland, Madison, Watertown, lVoria, Manitowoc ami Chieago, were ably repre-etited.I Each Society mng bcpnrntely and t li itcd much applause. The indies of- our MusicalSociety joined in on • chorus, and were loudly encored. A full tenor voice was clearly utsctnmble, like a ' soft ripple floating alove the great wave of | deeper sound. Hoar many hearts went back | to the dear Fatherland; to the snnnv day-wlien they sung these songs by their native streams, under the shadows of their loved j home trees! M i lam Jacobi sung magnificently, and wasenthusiastically encored. Miss ilintze sang hiielr. and a latlv with whom our in;i*k*til I 1 public is unacquainted, played an elegant! concert variation on the piano.
