I* Iirv.t of j3ef- |jini- iitorm-theateire ; :i□ at | .ri- |m- ,vns ;i«;hhe-ieirof-lis-*ss,thetortn-the i xa- ■m-oin hie !Wig itheav-)VV-aidmdIvasVKSS !of'te,ir-—tcs ;Id- !i»eID,(xEOHGIA, Lownues Coemty.Presentments of the Grand Jury—Superior Court,June Term, 1845.®7E/ E, the Grand Jurors, sworn, chosen and self w lected for the county of Lowndes, make the following presentments:W e have examined the condition of our Court-house,and find it to he rather in bud condition, and would recommend some action to have it kept in a more cleanly situation.We have also examined the condition of our Jail, and find it to he in a very unsafe condition, and would recommend good and sufficient repairs.We have examined the Clerk’s Books of oar Superior and Inferior Courts, and find them kept in good order.We have hod under our consideration the situation of the public roads of our county, and wouid especially recommend the Inferior Couit to have them placed in a good condition as eariv as possible.W- have had under Consideration, and have thoroughly examined, the books of our Countv Treasurer, and find them to he neatly and accurately kept.W’e have also had under consideration the books and papers of the Treasurer of the Poor School Fund of said county, and find that thu notes are not taken in accordance w ith tiie rules and regulations laid down by the Board of Trustees, and/would specially recommend a strict compliance vvifh those rules and regulations; and furthermore, irauld recommend a speedy renewal or ollgmion of sartd notes: and we specially recommend fiirtliia-7aclt;7IimcTi7??^i4iwe*iifiV*.if*nt amount to settle all the accountWe further recomrne/d our Inferior Court to levy a tax for county purposeIn taking leave of hit Honor Judge Cole. the Grand Jury tender to him tr.eir thanks for the prompt discharge of the duties bf his office, and the courtesy he has extended to this/body during the present term of this Court; and also to the Solicitor General for his courtesy and prompt attention to business during this term.And before closing our duties, we would earnestly recommend to our citizens generally, and more especially to the persons who may represent this county in the General Assembly of the State, to use their endeavors at the approaching election fur u Judge of this Circuit, to continue in office the individual who now fills, and has for some time filled the oince. During the whole period of his services, his administiation has been distinguished by the most eminent legal abilities, and a stern and impartial desire to execute the laws without fear or favor.
