Mr. Petigrue outlined the career of several of the graduates and made special mention of*he workof Misses Inez*, Turner .and Orrile Coe%in the line of scholarship, both finish, ing their course In about two years.He referred to the athletic prowess of tte class and the fact that it num* bars among its members four of the victorious girls1 basket-ball team of the past season. In dosing Mr. Petigrue touched upon the betterment and increase in the High school spirit and said that the class of June, 1905, were partially, at least, responsiblefor that. |An instrumental dnet by Ethel Wallace and Eva Clancy was well rendered, after which a humorous recitation, “How He Caught the Train,99 by Miss Inez Tamer, was cleverly given and greatly enjoyed,A vocal solo by Miss Jes3le Nutting with Miss Helen Sloan as accom panist, was folloy/ed Jby the class prophecy by John M. Gill. Mr. Gill exhibited' wonderful imagination inroutlining the careers of hi3 fellow graduates and his number was one of the best on the program.A recitation by Miss Evelyn Healy evoked such long applause that she was obliged to respond with an en- Icore. i*After a pleasing mandolin Solo by ( Miss Grace Lamoree, accompanied by 1 her sister Bath, the class donor, Robert Petigrue, took up bis talk. He performed it well, and rounds of applause followed nearly every presentation.Professor U. W. Richards made a brief talk to the class, during which he reviewed the evolution of the clas3 day exercises—their establishment, growth and present significance. He said that class day exercises brought np memories, some pleasant, others unpleasant; that it should also cause forgetfulness, so that the unpleasant episodes of the graduate’s school career might be erased from his or her memory.Mr. Richards in conclusion gave the members of the class some excellent words of advice, urging them never to deviate from the paths of righteousness and to take advantage of every honorable opportunity offered.The class song, with mnsic by Miss Evelyn Healy, brought the exercises to a close and marked the beginning of an enjoyable social hour.
