ROGAN FIELD RODEO ARENA SOON READYI♦Plans Shaping Up for One of West Texas Best Rodeos Here June 29, 30, July 1.With committees from the Junior Chamber of Commerce busy night ; and day attending to details of the forthcoming First Annual San Saba Rodeo, scheduled to be held at Ragan, Field under the flood lights,: Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week, plans for this outstanding entertainment are- rapidly being whipped into farm, Hudson Kelley, president,of the Junior Chamber, and Burrell Park, general chairman, said yesterday.The arena being constructed oft Rogan Field will be ready some time Monday, it $s .fexpedted. Blaekie Johnson, the West Texas Rodeo King, under whose direction the affair will be staged, is busy rounding up all the bad horses, Brahma steers’ atid calves he can locate and arranging for the best riders and ropers of the state to be on hand to compete for the purses offered. Cowboy' clowns, cow girls, will add color to the affair and music will be' there too., As mentioned elsewhere In this issue, a 210-mile booster tour of nine towns is being made • today by a motor-cade _ of the Jr. Chamber and other citizens, many with ten-gallonhats and bright colored shirts and high heeled boots, to pass the good word around.So make your plans to get set for three nights of the best entertainment San Saba County has had since the days when the old county fair was at its peak.
