Earlier in the evening he diimd at the Sunset hotel and visited the Criterion Theatre andfound a large crowd around themain entrance awaiting his comat Dreamwood. He opened the program with a series of songs| and a clever impersonation of Maurice Chevalier. In speaking of his band, which is playing this season at Dreamwood under thedirection of Jack Kern, he expressed hope that they would be increasingly popular and his regrets that he could not be heremore often to lead them.Following the entertainment program, Mr. Vallee led his band in several numbers and then left for Portland and New York.
