Garnet believes firmly that Italian women today are the most elegant in the world— highborn Italians, that is. Says she:“The Italian way of life is so different. The pace is more leisurely, and women’s function is to look beautiful and exciting. Italian women spend their lives entertaining and being entertained, and there are still plenty of servants to make all this possible. But this elegance, of course, is only for the few who still maintain great estates and staffs. The average women in America lives and dresses better than the average Italian woman could ever hope for in her wildest dreams.”Mrs. W. H. Myers, Mrs. H. O.
