Former Showboat Singing GroupSign ABC Contract, Release DiscNEW YORK — Three modern-day minstrels who were headline attractions on the West Virginia Centennial Showboat “Rhododendron” in 1963 shared ttie limelight again a few weeks ago when ABC Paramount released their first record.David Heatwole, Gary Dorian and Howard Reeves, who sang and plaved throughoutWest Virginia as the ‘Roamin’ Three” in their college days, have added a fourth member. Terry Hocap, to their group, and today are billed as The Windsong Boys.Their first record is a 45 rmp recording of two original songs in a new folk rock tempo, “Time To Go” and Tell All The Children”. It will be available at local record stores soon.An ABC Paramount spokesman described the new group’s sound as “extremely refreshing and highly original” and said that “The Windsong Boys” have achieved in six months what it takei manv groups years to accomplish.”Dorian, Reeves and Heatwole, who hailed from Parkersburg, launched their professional careers while students at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhanoon.As the original “Roamin’ Three”, they performed at Wesleyan, Aldersoo-Broaddus College.
