sixtieth Aanlvera«i7 of Kmanrlpa-tl«« To Be Observed.A celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the emancipation of the slaves In Texas will he staffed at Beach View. 2802 Avenue HH, the recreation center for the negro population, on Friday, June 10. It Is proposed to start the day with the firing of a salute of nineteen giant firecrackers at sunrise on the morning of the nlnteenth at Beach View. The day's program Includes a free dinner for the old and exslaves under the direction of Mrs. Mike Williams and a committee of ladles, who will on tomorrow servo their twenty-fourth annual free dinner to the ex-slaves.There will be swimming, bathing, riding and refreshments for all. At 6 o’clock In the evening of the day a patriotic program will be rendered consisting of Invocation, singing of national airs, reading of the emancipation proclamation of President Abraham Lincoln and the delivery 1 of addresses. The day will end 1 with a picnic and grand promenade In the akating rink at Bench View. Among those co-operating and slated to take part In the ceremonies of the day are: Mrs. Mike Williams, Mrs. Susie Johnson Davis, Mrs. Annie I*. Bradley. Mrs. Peral Hill, Mrs. A. T. Watkins. L. G. Robinson. W. H. Turner. John Hines. C. J. Williams. A. G. Perkins. A. Hollis, S. Roenfp. P. Hall and others.
