— Major H. S. Henning, writing to M.ijo James Evans, says lie is inlormed that the line orthography lor the Indian name suggested lo Whiskey creek, heretofore so called, is Wynince not Wyoina. No doubt the former is most ii accordonce with the Indian idiom, and cer tainly there Can be no objection to adopting it. Let the name be Wyomee.—Fort Mycr* Frt**.While expressing an entire approval of the change of n ante we are led to remark that “ a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”—perhaps sweeter. The word Wyomtt. is Indian for the word whiskey, but it sounds better.
