Monday, June 16, 1913.Lima Girl Makes TryAt Suicide at “Pond”On Sunday AfternoeiLakeview, O., June 16.—(Special) u —A young woman from Lima who refuses to give the name* or ad* dress of her parents, but whoae name is known to be Stemen made a dramatic attempt at suicide here Sunday afternoon shortly after 3 o'clock, when she threw herself over the dock at one oiMhc boat landings into the waters of Indian Lake. She went down twice in the murky waters of the reservoir before a rescuer succeeded in pulling her out of the water and into a boat.The story given tp the local authorities is that the Stemen girl came here Saturday evening in company with a young man from Lima and that on. Sunday they were followed to this place and accosted bythe ftrl’s iweetheart, another Lbu young man. The latter claimed tfc girl’s mother had aent him over i take her hack to Lima, a quurre between the two men ensued and girl's sweetheart accused the othe man of aaving drugged Miss Stemen While the men were quarreling, girl suddenly dashed over the rea ervoir bank and down to a h0a lauding from which Bhe threw her self into the water.A man named Rosd who happen* to be on the scene at the time jump ed into a boat and after a desperat struggle succeeded In dragging [i, girl into the boat. She was near! drowned before being rescued ho* ever .and was taken to a hotel am given attention by a physician whiwas called.
