Youngsters Invited toMusic Festival Showall young people in the Sitka-Mt. Edgecumbe community are invited to Blatchley Junior HighSchool tuesday morning, at 10:30 to meet and hear the Sitkacoast premiere of a “Suite for 2 Cellos and Piano” by Gian-Carlo Menotti. Many in the fesitival audience will be familiar withThe Tuesday morning program iswitharragedin co-operation summer school and summer recreational program and children enrolled in theseprograms are attending.The artists taking part in this rare and full-of-fun treat for theSitka Ml Edgecumbe young are Paul Rosenthal, violinist. Jeffrey Solow, violoncellist, Doris Stevenson, pianist, and Kurt Pasch, clarinettist. Pasch has been working with the young clarinettists during the music festival and thiswill be anmorningexcellentprogramopportunity for the clarinetists to hear other musicians.The festival artists arepresenting this Tuesday morning program at Blatchley as a service for the community. Theprogram will be informal and children will be seated on thefloor around the players.The Sitka Summer MusicFestival continues tonight at 8 p.m. with works by J.S. Bach, Alexander Glazunov, and a westThe premiere on the west coast of his cello suite is another rarity brought to us by the outstanding professional musicians taking part in the Sitka Summer Music Festival.Jeffrey Solowis playing the magnificent and beautiful “Suite No. 2 in d minor by Bach. Solow is also playing the prelude to this suite Sunday morning at St. Peter-’s-bv-the-Sea.The artists of the festival are being honored Sunday at a brunch at the Canoe Club.
