Cockrell, passed the Senate and House at Austin last week. Under the bill there will be a 55c fishing license to all persons over 17 years of age except land owners on whose premises the waters touch. Those who buy artificial lure licenses pay $1.10 which includes the other fee for pole fishing, and a hunting lee of $2.00 for those over 17 years of age, except the land owners who hunt on their own premises.The primary purpose of the foes above mentioned is to provide funds for the employment of a full-time game warden for the county.The Chamber also voted to purchase sufficient knives and forks and some other utensils for use of the organization at their suppers; etc.Five new directors were voted on from a list of twenty names submitted by the nominating committee, the result of which vote will be canvassed by the board of directors at their next meeting. Thanks of i the Chamber were voted to the American Legion post for the fine set of reconditioned wicker furniture installed at the Jr. Chamber-Legion quarters, to Watson’s Market and Shire’s Restaurant for the eats, to the serving committee for their fine efforts, to the Hydro-Gas Sales Corporation for the use of their portable gas range.
