SAN SABA TO HAVE ATOP RANKING RODEONo Expense Is Being Spared to Give People of This District Some Splendid Entertainment.To Be Held at Flood-Lighted Rogan Field for Three Nights.Finest Talent and Wildest Mustangs and Steers Coming for Rodeo, June 29, 30 and July 1.At last San Saba^County is to have heir own rodeo and from all indications it is going to be one of thebest seen in West Texas this sum- ^ mer. The contract was signed Tuesday morning with E. H.' (Blackie) Johnson by the Rodeo Committee of the San Saba Junior Chamber of Commerce, under whose auspices the three-night performances are to be staged at ilodd-lighted Rogan Field, San Saba, on the evenings of Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 29, 30, and July 1, starting at '8:30 sharp.Burrel Park, general chairman of the Rodeo Committee, said yesterday that it is planned to open the show with a mammoth parade on the afternoon of Thursday, the first day.Johnson, who put on the recently highly suecelkful Lampasas rodeo and has several others scheduled, announces that there will be a long list of' top-ranking riders, ropers from all over West Texas in the competition-events with at least $200 add-money purses, at least ten of the wildest brones in the state, 10 Brahma steers or bulls, 40 Brahma calves and at least 8 bull-dogging steers will be here. The events will include wild horse riding, steer riding, bull riding, calf tie-downs, bulldogging, double mugging and roping of all kinds, beside one of the best downs in these parts.The Junior Chamber of Commerce particularly fortunate in securing the services of'-Mr. Johnson and in securing the 'use of Rogan Field, •with its some 2600 comfortable seats from which every part of the specially constructed arena will be visible to ail.The following committees have charge of the various divisions of the rodeo arrangements:The rodeo committee are planning a booster trip sometime next week, to cover about seven or eight towns in this area.
