Four Memorable Services Held Throughout Day.LARGE ATTENDANCEAt All Services—Louisa Nelson, the Oldest Living Memlier, Kindly Remembered—Xiglit Services.A day that will long be remember-bered by members of the Christian church began at 9 o’clock, yesterday* at the Sunday school, where 575 were in attendance. The feature of this service was the bearing of flags by eleven little girls. These flags represent the various stages of the country’s progress and were the English red cross, Union Jack Cromwell flags, the snake flag of the Southern colonies, the Massachusetts flag, the revolutionary stripes, the Betsy Ross flag of thirteen stars, the flag of 1S12 and different representations of “Old Glory” as known to-day.The services at 2:1-10 o’clock in the afternoon were especially appropriate in the celebration of the 75tli anniversary of the local church organization. It happening that the anniversary fell on Flag Day the church was profusely adorned with beautifulflags. The crowds began to come early and steadily until it took some skill on the part of the ushers to seat all advantageously. Seats in front of pulpit were rese’rved for .those who had been members of the church forty years or more and a goodly number gathered there. Then Rev. Burkhardt asked all who had been members of the church 25 years to take seats, in the rear of the first named and triese were soon filled. Mr. Burkhardt explained that any who had belonged to tl\e Christianchurches elsewhere were eligible ifthey had membership in local church now.The services opened with the hymn, “Oh, the Precious Love of Jesus!” led by L. V. Hegwood and sung by the full church choir with fine effect. This was followed with a most eloquent prayer by Mr. A. M. Sinks. “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” was next sung. ’Rev. Burkhardt then read the list of members of the church Vho had passed away, explaining however that he had no assurance that it wascomplete. He then read a communication from G. B. VanArsdell to the congregation, in which the members were addressed most feelingly.Mr. Burkhardt then announced that Miss Marguerite Thiebaud had been laboring zealously on a history of the church, gathering data from Miss Louisa Nelson; Mrs. Schofield and other of the older members as well as from any other source from which facts could be obtained and that while the work might not be complete in all details, Miss Thiebaud had done her best and would now read to them the result of her work. Miss Thiebaud then came forward and in a clear, well modulatedvoice, read the hiBtory of the Christian church in Connersville from its founding 75 years ago. Owing to its length it could not be published today but will appear in full in the News to-morrow.At the conclusion of the reading Mr. Burkhardt asked the older members present to state how long they had been members of the church. A News reporter tried to catch all the names as they were called but a few may have been missed. As gathered they are as follows: Philip Reeder, 45 years: Mr. and Mrs. Monger. 47 years; Martha Ellendorf, G2 years: Mrs. T. L. Smith, 4 5 years; Mrs. V. H.
