FOR ROCKFORD COLLEGEChicago and Suburban Graduates Meet in Garden of Mrs. E. W. Pratt’s Home—to Honor Jane AddamsThe annual spring luncheon and business meeting of Rockford College association of Chicago was served last Saturday at the house and garden of Mrs. Edward W. Pratt, 600 North Oak Park avenue. In spite of the great heat, sixty guests were present.The guests of honor were Dean Edith Abbott of the department of social service administration of the University of Chicago and Dean Mary Watson Green of Rockford college. President William A. Maddox and Miss Lorena Church, registrar of Rockford college, represented the faculty. Mrs. Catherine Waugh Mc-Culloch, a trustee of the college, Mrs. Andrew MacLeish, and other well-known alumnae were present. Dean Abbott, gave an address pointing out the great need of trained social service workers. Dean Green spoke of the girls of Rock ford college and their splendid work and future.A lovely dance program on the lawn, made even more beautiful by the natural setting, was furnished by pupils of the Humphrey School of Dancing. Those who danced were:Elva Brown Elizabeth Dailey Betty Parker Sara Mecracken Thalia Mecracken Catherine KJumph Ruth Timroth Virginia Langdon Betty Miller *Dorothy FordThe Chicago association plans this fall to raise $31,000 to complete the $60,000 fund, of which $29,000 is already raised, to endow a chair of social service at Rockford college to be named in honor of its most famous graduate, Jane Addams. Mrs. Catherine Waugh Me-Ruth Hackley Marjorie Blunck Lorraine Little Barbara Bischoff Margaret Riley Ruth Stoddard Winifred Wade Jean Gregg Vivian TrenaryCulloch, who has already contributed generously, is working earnestly to interest people in giving to this fund, and there is no doubt that she, assisted by other members of the association, will soon obtain the full amount necessary to endow the Jane Addams chair of social service.s he Oak Park members of the association who assisted Mrs. Pratt as hostess and arranged the program, were Mrs. Arthur L, Tucker, Mrs. C. L. Rundell, Mrs. M. T. Hackley and Mrs. Frank Dhus.
